On the Agefiph stand at Club France, representatives of Nexans and Agefiph signed a national agreement for the employment of people with disabilities in France

Learn more about this:

In France, Nexans employs people in 7 companies and 18 establishments - in the fields of production, maintenance, engineering and administrative management, 53% of whom are manual workers (from CAP to Bac pro) and 47% employees and managers (from Bac pro to Bac + 5).

The Group has 128 disabled employees in France and meets its employment obligation with a direct employment rate of 6.09%. Nevertheless, Nexans wishes to progress and pursue its efforts in this area. With this agreement, Nexans aims to create a working environment that values and respects individual differences, promotes equal opportunities and fosters a culture of inclusion for all employees in France.

One agreement, five priorities

The objective of the national agreement signed with Agefiph is to make the disability policy a unifying corporate project that meets Nexans' strategic orientations in France:

  • Pursue and amplify its commitment to diversity and the fight against discrimination by maintaining at least a 6% employment rate;
  • Mobilise and involve all employees in the recruitment and retention of disabled people through awareness-raising, communication and training initiatives;
  • Create favourable conditions for the employment, skills development and continued employment of disabled employees, ensuring equal opportunities for all employees;
  • Implement measures to manage incapacity, maintain employment and redeploy employees as part of its HSE (Health, Safety and Environment) policy.
  • Develop a policy of collaboration with the protected and adapted sector.

“ At Nexans, we are convinced that diversity, inclusion and acceptance of disabilities are sources of individual and collective enrichment. With this agreement, we are committed to building a working environment where each individual feels recognised and valued for his or her uniqueness, while benefiting from the same opportunities. ”

Fabien Gillen

“ This agreement demonstrates the commitment of all sectors of the economy to the employment of disabled people, and proves that disabled people have the skills needed to work in the cable industry in France. Agefiph will be working alongside Nexans, providing support, assistance and services to facilitate the implementation of the commitments made. ”
