Nexans launches a customized logistics offer dedicated to construction works in Ile de France and Greater Paris
Oct 26, 2021- Nexans’ Nanterre logistics center located in the epicenter of the Grand Paris project —provides customized logistics solutions specific to Paris area
- The Grand Paris project is the biggest European urban development project in recent decades
- Nexans logistics offering is the cable industry’s first monthly payment scheme adapted to complex projects and includes a delivery guarantee
Paris, October 26, 2021 - Nexans, a key player on the railway infrastructure and installation markets launches today at the SIFER 2021 exhibition in France tailored logistics solutions for construction projects in the Paris area.
The customizable service includes cable assembly, cutting, kitting, inventory and storage, along with real-time cable delivery, drum tracking, and cable recycling and repurchase. The cable market in the Ile-de-France area is expected to grow by 15 percent per annum from 2021 to 2025 due to the Grand Paris project¹, the biggest European urban development project in recent decades
By leveraging Nexans’ logistics expertise and on-demand capabilities, clients can adapt their delivery requirements based on real-time needs to save time and avoid costly disruptions to work projects.
This one-of-a-kind offering resulted from being the first cable supplier to be awarded on the Grand Paris project and will provide Nexans’ clients overall cost savings while maintaining high service standards.
The Nexans logistics offering also includes storage services in a secured location, a key need for construction projects where safe storage space is not immediately available.
As part of the company's environmental commitment, Nexans' compressed natural-gas-powered trucks will be used to transport cable —reducing CO2 emissions by 90 percent. In addition, Nexans' delivery vehicles provide up to three times less noise pollution, an important requirement in residential areas.
“ Our Nanterre logistics center brings to the Grand Paris project years of experience in managing the demands of complex cable logistics. Our dedicated team provides a single point of contact throughout the value chain to provide an efficient and cost-effective solution for contractors in the Ile-de-France area working on the Grand Paris project. ”
