Cables are everywhere around us and most of the time are not visible once they are installed. However in the event of fire equipments on board should remain functional to help in the evacuation process. Fire resistant cables are designed to be used in safety systems (emergency lighting, fire detection, warning systems, door opening, etc.) for control or power feeding. Nexans is dedicated to improve safety in ships by protecting people’s lives and vessels from fires with innovative cable solutions. These cables ensure the integrity of electrical circuits for a certain time after the fire started. MPRXCX ® or MPRXCX ® 331 power, control or TCX(C) instrumentation cables maintain circuit integrity in case of fire. On top of that all products are fire retardant, low smoke and halogen free satisfying performance requirements from the International Convention for the Safety of Life at Sea (SOLAS).
